This article examines ASD through a social studies lens, focusing on the societal challenges faced by autistic individuals, particularly children, and the systemic barriers to inclusion. It explores the role of cultural attitudes, educational frameworks, and family dynamics in shaping the experiences of autistic individuals. The article highlights disparities in resources and policies in India and globally, underscoring the urgent need for societal acceptance, inclusive education, and awareness campaigns. Drawing on evidence from national and international organizations, the article provides insights into strategies for building a supportive and inclusive society for individuals with autism.
